Description
The Audio-Speech Therapy Center handles the assessment and treatment of high- and low-complexity communication and language disorders falling within the scope of speech therapy, in both developmental and adult age.
The speech therapy service has been active within the Turin Institute for the Deaf since 1999 as a center specialized in the treatment of deafness, combining the Institute's decades-long educational tradition with modern rehabilitation approaches for deafness (oralism, bimodal communication, auditory-verbal therapies, and others).
Since 2001, when the Audio-Speech Therapy Center opened as a direct extension of the Turin Institute for the Deaf, over 2,000 cases have been documented and treated (assessment and treatment), in addition to deafness-related cases.

- Language difficulties and delays (primary and secondary)

- Swallowing disorders (atypical swallowing and dysphagia)
- Disfluencies and stuttering
- Communication difficulties resulting from brain injury (aphasia and dysarthria)
- Communication disorders associated with cognitive impairment
- Voice disorders (childhood and occupational dysphonia)
- Specific and non-specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysorthographia, dyscalculia, etc.)
- Pervasive developmental disorders
